How Mystery Letters by Mail Work

Looking for a mystery letter subscription for adults? Fiction Mail works differently: you pay once, and the story ends when the case is solved.

Every series is a story told entirely through letters. Each letter is a full chapter of 1,500 to 2,000 words, printed in a realistic handwriting font and mailed in a kraft envelope. The reader's name appears throughout the story, so they become part of the case, and most letters end on a cliffhanger that makes the wait for the next one part of the fun.

  1. Pick a series. A short case, a longer investigation, or a bundle.
  2. Personalize it. Add the reader's name, a gift note, and optional gift wrap.
  3. Choose the mail date. The first letter is sent by USPS Priority Mail on the date you pick, so you can order early for a birthday or holiday.
  4. The story continues. The remaining letters go out on their own weekly or monthly schedule. Nothing to renew, nothing to cancel.

Which Mystery Series Should I Choose?

Choose a short 4-letter case, an 8-week series, a 12-month mystery, or a bundle of 20 letters or more.

  • Seeking Justice (8 weekly letters): Our best seller. When Jen's neighbor is found dead and police call it a suicide, she refuses to accept it and starts investigating on her own.
  • Buried Secrets (4 weekly letters): A home renovation uncovers a skeleton in the basement, and Katie digs into a decades-old death that a powerful family wants kept quiet.
  • Beach House (4 weekly letters): Chris rents a room in a beach house with four strangers. When one of them is found dead, everyone left in the house becomes a suspect.
  • Closed Case Files (4, 8, or 12 letters): Private investigator Jason Harlow opens his files and walks the reader through his most gripping cases, one clue at a time.
  • Whodunit and Mystery Bundles (20 weekly letters): Three complete series back to back for the reader who always guesses the ending.

A Gift Mystery Lovers Won't See Coming

Most mystery fans already have a full bookshelf. Very few have a mystery that comes through the mail with their name in it. Schedule it for a birthday, the holidays, or just because, and the first letter can be gift wrapped with your personal note in a rigid envelope.
